Välitupa holiday cottages are located in Punkaharju, on the shores of the clear Puruvesi Lake in the village of Vaara. There are four cottages available for rent all year round, each on their own quiet plots. The cottages are surrounded by a peaceful forest and countryside and, of course, the pristine Puruvesi.
The surrounding tranquillity created by these elements has been praised by many visitors, many of whom return again and again. Cottages with practical, comfortable and modern fittings make for easy “everyday” holidays for families, couples, friends and even business travellers.
Spring-based Puruvesi
Puruvesi is a spring-based clear and clean lake at the corner of the Saimaa waterway. Puruvesi is particularly famous for its clean water and tasty vendace. The lake is popular with recreational fishermen, but still provides a living for many professional fishermen. It’s lovely to take a dip in the spring-based clean water to cool off or enjoy being in the water on a SUP-board, for example. Puruvesi also offers a great setting and destinations for boaters.
Nature invites you to move
In addition to the lake, the cottages are surrounded by a coniferous forest. The forest offers good opportunities for getting out and about in nature, both on foot and by mountain bike, for example. Foraging for berries and mushrooms is also on the wish list of many visitors to the cottages, and in summer there is almost always something to take home from the woods.
So take a break from everyday life and come to the shores of Lake Puruvesi to relax, enjoy nature and the good-natured customer service offered by the local Eastern Finns.
Välitupa Farm
The cottages are located on Välitupa Farm on the north-eastern shore of the estate, about two kilometres from the farm centre. The Välitupa Farm used to be a dairy farm, but since 2003, the main activities of the farm have been cereal farming, forestry, cottage rental and small-scale machinery contracting. The parents of the farm’s host family also work outside the farm in their own professions.
There are no longer any cows on the farm, but there are cats, dogs, rabbits and, in summer, horses to look after and scratch. In addition, farm machinery has been shown to anyone interested.
